How I became a wedding film editor?
A little more about me and my story, just so you can get to know me better and see that I’m a real person. I understand that hiring a wedding video editor remotely can be nerve-wracking, so I want to share more about myself and be more transparent with you
I’ve loved movies for as long as I can remember. Back in the ’90s, my dad owned a video rental store, so we always had the latest VHS releases at home. Therefore, every cozy family evening was accompanied by watching a movie. When I was 16, I edited my first video. I stayed up all night working on it — and that’s when I fell in love with the whole process. From that point on, it became a hobby I stuck with for years
In 2014, I bought my first camera, a Canon 6D, and set out to sharpen my skills at a local film studio with the goal of eventually starting my own business. Not long after, I began filming weddings and that’s actually how I met my future wife. We ended up continuing on this path together and eventually launched our own video production company
In 2019, we moved to a new city, fully determined to continue growing our business there. However, the pandemic disrupted our plans, and we had to quickly adapt to avoid losing our income. I decided to focus on video editing and began offering my services to the international market. Thankfully, it paid off. Before long, I started collaborating with videographers from the US, Europe, and Australia
And here we are
My wife and I are connected by the same industry — she’s now a wedding photographer, and I’ve become a wedding video editor. I’ve really grown to love editing more than shooting and I love that it gives me the opportunity to work with people all over the world. I know how challenging the work of a wedding videographer can be — I’ve been there myself. Finding clients, communicating with them, filming the wedding day, and handling hours of editing all require a lot of energy.
